Cow Eye Dissection

Collaboration is an important part of working in the health field. You should always collaborate to get a perspective from someone other than yourself. In this picture Amanda and I collaborated on dissecting a cow eye. It was easier to dissect the cow eye with someone helping me because I had a second pair of eyes to make sure we were doing it right. It was also helpful because she helped me identify parts of the eye when I wasn’t to sure of what it was. If I didn’t have someone to collaborate with it wouldn’t have been easy for me to dissect the eye.

Make A Difference Project

My class and human services joined classes to learn about poverty. Our main source was A Framework for Understanding Poverty by Ruby K. Payne. In this book we learned about generational poverty, situational poverty, hidden rule, and much more. We then had to come up with our own projects that could help people in our community. I made an educational video to end myths and stereotypes.

I was the student representative for the interviews of the vice principle. I was nervous at first because I was in a room full of adults, I didn't think my opinions would matter, but I was wrong. Being apart of the interview process was an amazing experience. When I was first asked I said yes but was a little hesitant, I'm glad I agreed if I didn't I would have regretted it. Team work and collaboration are huge parts to the interview process, you need to be able to listen to what everyone has to say, and then give your feedback.
